At La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park and Wildlife Refuge, you will discover one of the world’s largest butterfly farm observatories, home to more than 22 different butterflies species.  On this tour, along with butterflies, you will find hummingbirds, frogs, orchids and myriad beautiful waterfalls. It is perfect for a family or romantic getaway, and a nature lover’s dream!

The butterfly farm spans the length of a football field and reaches heights of 15m (50ft). This enclosed structure allows butterflies to soar freely while guests walk amid their habitat.  You will be able to observe the different species and learn about their intriguing metamorphosis cycle and lifestyle. You will also have the opportunity to visit a fascinating hummingbird garden with 24 different species, a frog pond with nocturnal, diurnal and poisonous frogs, a serpentarium with 30 of the most beautiful snakes in the country, and an orchid garden containing Costa Rica’s National Flower.

Then, you will visit "La Casita Típica", Spanish for "the typical house", where you can admire a recreation of last century’s Costa Rican architecture and lifestyle.  After a delicious local buffet lunch, you will be guided to the trails where you can start a spectacular hike past the park’s five waterfalls.  La Paz Waterfall is the largest, while Magia Blanca or "White Magic" is said to be the most spectacular.

This tour finishes with a visit to a coffee plantation, where you will learn about and taste real Costa Rican coffee.
