DAY 1. SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA.
Pick up and transfer from the International Airport to your selected hotel in San José. Rest of the day on your own to enjoy the Hotel amenities and facilities.
DAY 2. SAN JOSE – ARENAL VOLCANO.
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the Arenal Volcano, the route will allow us to view some of the most picturesque communities of the country as we travel to Arenal. Ecotourism it the primary tourism activity of the area, with a variety of options that include nature trails and mountain trekking, bird watching and horseback riding in addition to a myriad of leisure, health and relaxation alternatives.
DAY 3. ARENAL VOLCANO.
Breakfast at the lodge. The lodge offers activities that enable interactivity with the local population such as: horseback riding, visits to the waterfalls, visits to captive breeding centers for tepezcuintle (lowland paca) and butterfly farms.
DAY 4. ARENAL VOLCANO – SANTA ELENA (MONTEVERDE).
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the Monteverde cloud forest; en route experience the views of Lake Arenal and many typical communities of the country. The Monteverde Biological Reserve is the principal attraction of the region but there is also a great variety of adventure activities related to the forest including the canopy tour, hanging bridges and the aerial tram, among others.
DAY 5. SANTA ELENA (MONTEVERDE).
Breakfast at the lodge. In this amazing area you can visit hummingbird galleries, serpentariums, butterfly gardens, frog habitats, bird farms and don't forget the local cheese factory.
DAY 6. SANTA ELENA (MONTEVERDE) – LONDRES (QUEBRADA ARROYO).
Breakfast at the lodge. Transfer to the Central Pacific, the landscape along the way is varied and entertaining. The village of Londres is a distinctly rural community in which the ancient customs of the original Costa Rican 'campesino' are still vibrant. The area has extensive an tropical rainforest, primary and secondary forests in regeneration, a remarkable waterfall as well as interesting crop production that includes vanilla, cinnamon and guava. Community members have organized around the concept of conservation and initiatives such as biodigesters, vermicomposting for organic fertilizer and semi-stabled cattle farms.
DAY 7. LONDRES (QUEBRADA ARROYO).
Breakfast at the lodge. The lodge boasts the best guides of the area and with them you can take medium to high intensity hikes through 4 kilometers of trails; horseback riding tours; hiking and swimming at the local pond, visits to local farms and bird watching.
DAY 8. LONDRES (QUEBRADA ARROYO) – SAN JOSÉ – CONCLUSION OF SERVICES.
Breakfast at the lodge. Return trip to the capital city in time for your flight home.
