Day 1 Arrival to Costa Rica

Day 2 San José - San Gerardo de Dota
Breakfast at the Hotel. Private transfer from San José to San Gerardo de Dota, you will take the Florencio del Castillo Highway to the Southern Interamerican Highway (Route 2). From there, enjoy the great climate as you drive through the beautiful high mountains of el Cerro de La Muerte. In the afternoon, horseback riding to the Savegre River, follow the river to the beautiful waterfalls or enjoy the wonderful view of the valley from 2400 meters above sea level. This is an excellent way to discover the natural beauty of the region. Accommodation at the Savegre Lodge Hotel.
Day 3 Savegre Trails
Breakfast at the Hotel. Through the year, the trails are traversed by people of all nationalities, ages and lifestyles, each with a different objective -scientific research, adventure, a bit of exercise, birdwatching, or simply to find the peace that comes from the beautiful cloud forest and pure fresh air. The reserve has 35 kilometers of forest trails, mostly through virgin woods. The altitude varies from 2,200 to 3,470 meters (7,220 ft to 11,384 ft). Enter our forests into a cathedral-like setting with columns of hundred-year old oaks, multi-colored plants and mushrooms, celestial choirs of birds, and multitudes of insects, amphibians and mammals that will make your walk an unforgettable experience.
Thanks to the special characteristics of the area, the paths suit many desires and needs. For example, start off with a powerfully emotive experience of a wilderness of dwarf plants, finally arriving at the Tropical Cloud Forest at short distances.or if you prefer more adrenaline-pumping adventure, trails along the banks of the Savegre River are also a great option. Day 4 San Gerardo de Dota - Barú National Wildlife Refuge
Breakfast at the Hotel. Private transfer from San Gerardo de Dota to Barú National Wildlife Refuge. In the afternoon, walk to the Mangrove Swamps of the Barú Reserve, this walk will take you through the secondary and the succession forests in the lowlands of the Hacienda, where walking is easier and birdwatching is great. Accommodation at the Hacienda Barú Hotel.
Day 5 Barú National Wildlife Refuge
Breakfast at the Hotel. Birdwatching walk at the Hacienda Barú National Wildlife Refuge. More than 350 bird species have been recorded. This is mostly due to the wide diversity of habitats found on the 330 hectares (815 acres) of the Refuge. These include primary and secondary forests, swamps forests, mangrove forests, seashore, wetlands, rivers, old cacao plantations and open pastures. The Lowland Bird Watching Hike begins early, at dawn. |

First on the agenda is a visit to a tower located on top of a knoll. The upper deck puts you in the tree tops on eye level with the birds. This is an
ideal location for spotting tanagers, honeycreepers, toucans, saltators, vireos, among others. From there, you will hike through secondary forest with your sharp-eyed guide until you arrive at "La Casona," the old Hacienda Barú home where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast of typical Costa Rican food. Day 6 Barú National Wildlife Refuge - Manuel Antonio National Park
Breakfast at the Hotel. Private transfer from Barú National Wildlife Refuge to Manuel Antonio National Park. Lunch in Quepos and later visit to Manuel Antonio National Park.
Have an experienced nature guide take you on an informative hike through the park. Our guides know where you are most likely to encounter sloths, monkeys and other animals.
They will also provide you with a great deal of information during this 2 hour walk. In the middle of the tour at the third beach of the park, we will make a stop for you to enjoy a nice bath in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean as well a nice relaxing time. After the tour, outside the park, you will have delicious fruit, natural juice and water in a very special and comfortable place. Later, private transfer from Manuel Antonio to Punta Leona. Accommodation at the Punta Leona Hotel.
Day 7 Carara National Park
Breakfast at the Hotel. This tour will take us to Carara National Park, one of the parks with the most diverse fauna and the easiest access in the country. This park has a transition forest between the Tropical Dry Forest and the Tropical Rainforest. Walking through its footpaths, we will observe numerous monkey species, birds -standing out the colorful "Lapa Roja" (Scarlet Macaw), as well as immense crocodiles along the Tárcoles River. During the walk through the footpaths of this park, we will be taught about the richness of this ecosystem. Accommodation at the Punta Leona Hotel.
Day 8 Punta Leona - International Airport
Breakfast at the Hotel. Private transfer from Punta Leona to the International Airport.
