En route towards Arenal, you will pass by the picturesque town of La Fortuna and, in a clear day, you will have the opportunity to admire this majestic colossus.  You may also have the chance to witness a small eruption, causing red lava to pour down the mountain and clouds of smoke and ash to fly into the sky.  At night, the spectacle is like a magnificent display of fireworks.
 
At the nearby thermal hot springs you will be able to relax in naturally heated Jacuzzis charged with healthy minerals, or you may take advantage of the resort’s additional services such as Tabacón’s award winning spa.
