Only 45 minutes away from San José, you can get up close and personal with nature as you swing though the rainforest canopy.  On this canopy tour, you will feel a rush of adrenaline as you fly from platform to platform and explore life amongst the treetops!

On the outskirts of the Barva Volcano, the San José de la Montaña Canopy Adventure is located over 700 hectares (1,730 acres) of tropical forest ­350 hectares of which are primary forest.

This canopy tour will start with an explanation of the basic principles needed to make this experience both enjoyable and safe.  Then, you will take part in the adrenaline-fueled adventure of climbing above the canopy of a tropical forest, sliding through eleven platforms located on beautiful and imposing oak trees, and enjoying close contact with nature.  During the tour you will also take a walk through the hollow trunk of a ficus tree and take an invigorating forest hike to the platforms.

This canopy adventure uses a special system of steel cables and professional climbing gear. It is a unique excursion that requires no previous experience.
